All You Need to Know About Fastbraces®

If you’ve been thinking about getting braces but you have hesitated due to the time commitment required, you should look into Fastbraces®. This blog from Levens Family Dentistry addresses the most frequently asked questions people have about the process.

What Are Fastbraces®?

Fastbraces® straighten teeth differently than traditional braces. Fastbraces® is an innovative system of fast, easy, safe, and affordable braces. They are a complete, non-extraction system that produces amazing results.

How Do They Work?

Fastbraces® brackets work on a different mechanical principle than standard braces. Traditional braces straighten teeth in two stages, usually over a couple years’ time. During the first year, the crown of the tooth is moved into alignment. The position of the root of the tooth is adjusted in the second year.

The patented Fastbraces® system uses an innovative triangular bracket and a specially-shaped square wire to correct the position of the root of the tooth from the very start of treatment. These innovative designs are key to realigning the crown and root at the same time.

What Are the Benefits?

When people are choosing between Fastbraces® and other options to straighten their teeth, there are several benefits they should consider.

Shorter treatment time – In some cases, Fast Braces produce straightened teeth in as little as 20 weeks. It’s more common though for the treatment to take about a year. This is much faster than traditional braces, which usually require two years.

Less painful – Most people who have tried both methods of teeth straightening report Fastbraces® cause less pain. Studies show that Fastbraces® create less frictional forces, a major reduction in sliding friction, and pain reduction with fitting front and back teeth together.

Lower overall costs – Since it takes less time for Fastbraces® to do their job, they will be lower in overall cost, both in terms of orthodontia and the potential for tooth decay. Since the brackets and retainers are on your teeth for less time overall, dental hygiene is much easier to maintain.

Shorter retainer wear times – Since Fastbraces® completely realign the roots of the teeth, retention is needed every day for only 15-20 minutes. Some people prefer wearing their retainers at night. You won’t have to wear a retainer during the day for months after your braces come off.
